The movie successfully finished the year of 2013 with $ 1.2 billion dollars as the only film to cross a billion dollars at the worldwide box office.
In Iron Man 3, Stark suits up once again as Iron Man and sets out in pursuit of the Mandarin and his allies to guard Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre that a terrorist claims to attack.
The visual effects category recognizes the special effects, which are often a big part of blockbuster comic book movies.
Christopher Townsend, the supervisor of Iron Man 3 visual effects team said: “ We’re being seen not just as a post-production solution, but as a filmmaking tool.
It’s very exciting now to see visual effects recognized as an approach going in, not just a fix it in post part of the solution.”
He has full confidence regarding the Oscar competition and gives full attention to the other nominees such as Star Trek Into Darkness, Gravity, The Hobbit 2, and Lone Ranger.
“We have an amazing legacy of the Iron Man films in how he looks, moves and what his characteristics were so even though we had a new suit and new visual effects companies doing the work.
We were able to look back at those other films and see what quintessentially was Iron Man, what worked and didn’t, and what we wanted to improve upon and what gave us that level of reality that we looking for,”he added.
