The trailer was screened at this year's Cannes Film Festival, which just ended this week.
The film is a sequel to his 2010 hit, "Let the Bullets Fly." The plot is set in 1920s Shanghai.
Directed by Jiang Wen, the film stars Jiang himself, along with famous actor Ge You, Jiang's wife and actress Zhou Yun, actress Shu Qi from Taiwan and singer-turned-actress Na Ying.
Actor Wen Zhang, who recently made headlines after it was discovered he was involved in a love affair, is also in the film.
When being interviewed by the press about whether he would delete Wen's scenes, Jiang emphasized that he would keep it. He added that an actor's personal affairs had nothing to do with the film itself.
The film makes its way to Chinese screens on December 18th of this year.
