Talents are essential to the development of theaters. Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center allocates 30 percent of its budget every year to support the newcomers of the theater. The National Theater of Greece introduced a project in which the new generation, who could not find the venue otherwise, can perform at the theater with its support. Japan's National Theater pays great attention to the preservation of its traditional arts such as the Kabuki, and trains artists from various theaters. Beijing Poly Theater is dedicated to the training of management talents -- so far the theater employs more than 3,000 outstanding professionals.
Though theater operation models differ from each other, the workshop is indeed "a great opportunity for an intensive international exchange of experiences and ideas", said André Comploi, the Head of Press at Austria's Wiener Staatsoper.
The annual International Master Workshop on Theaters and Theater Companies Management is hosted by China Collaborative Innovation Center for Theater Arts Management. A master workshop on performance production will be held in September this year.
