Eddie Redmayne took the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama for his performance as Stephen Hawking in "The Theory of Everything."
Julianne Moore won Best Actress in a Drama for her startling performance as a Columbia University professor with early on-set Alzheimer's in "Still Alice." Amy Adams surprisingly took Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her performance in "Big Eyes," her second consecutive Golden Globe since her win last year for "American Hustle."
The Best Supporting Actor award went to J.K. Simmons for his performance as a domineering jazz teacher in "Whiplash."
The DreamWorks sequel "How to Train Your Dragon 2" took Best Animated Film and the Russian movie "Leviathan" took Best Foreign Language Film.
The Globe for Best Original Song went to "Glory" in the civil rights drama "Selma," while "The Theory of Everything" won Best Original Score.
Amazon.com celebrated two Golden Globes wins for its sexual identity comedy "Transparent," winning Best TV Series - Musical or Comedy. The show's star, Jeffery Tambor, also landed Best Actor in the category, dedicating his award to the transgender community. Later in the evening, Kevin Spacey earned the award for Best Actor in a TV Drama Series for his starring role in Netflix's "House of Cards," his first Golden Globe after seven previous nominations for his work in movies.
