"The Continent"

The original feature film of "The Continent", directed by China's best-selling writer Han Han, is an incredible response to the rivalry between him and Guo Jingming, another young best-selling writer who produced and directed the "Tiny Times" series. Han's directorial debut, featuring popular movie stars Feng Shaofeng, Chen Bolin, Wallace Chung, Wang Luodan and Yuan Quan, is a decent success. The road trip comedy film tells the story of three childhood friends from the most eastern island in China who set foot on the mainland in a reckless journey to rediscover themselves. It's a journey that allows them to see themselves like never before and one that changes the course of their lives forever. Han Han clearly triumphs over Guo Jingming judging by what movie critics have had to say. With Han's unique artistic touch with a literary writer's quality and nature, the film has slightly better taste and class than many road movies in China, such as Ning Hao's Breakup Buddies, the biggest grossing Chinese film in 2014.
