The exhibition features prototypes, experiments, material samples and finished works from key projects, which offer a clear look at the designer's artistic mindmap. Although the studio has aquired a particular focus on unusual project on a large scale, here it's surprisingly friendly and intimate to see, and even play, with the test pieces. One can appreciate the craftsmanship up close, undertaken in a spirit of curiosity and experimentation.

"Actually there are so many ideas that over the last 20 years that have come up that feel fertile; and I have now developed a really fantastic team, almost 180 people, we're itching to work on special projects. So we're certainly not been there and done that at all, we feel like a beginning," Heatherwick said.

In all, the exhibition offers a window into the London-based studio, utilising its archive that gives a fascinating insight into the studio's exploration of new ideas, materials, techniques, and most importantly, the creative processes and aesthetic consistency.

The exhibition is on an internation tour that will take it to Shanghai in July, followed by Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei and Mumbai.
