3rd "Charming Spring" National Youth Peking Opera Contest [Sina.com.cn]

Time: May-June

The 3rd "Charming Spring" National Youth Peking Opera Contest will take place in Beijing between May and June this year. The spectacularly talented young artists from across the country will be invited to take part in the contest to perform the classical operas.

Contestants will compete for the championship titles in the four major roles of Peking Opera, namely, "Sheng (male role),""Dan (female role),""Jing (painted face)" and "Chou (clown)."

The contest is hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Daxing district government.
