The July shortlist of the ten citizens selected to be candidates for the 2014 "Beijing Role Model" awards was released on July 31.

The following are the ten citizens on the July shortlist and a brief outline of what they have done for others and society.

Su Shilong, male, born in 1983, vice manager of the security department at Beijing Crab Island Resort. On July 6, 2014, Su jumped into a swill well to save a couple who had fallen in.
