Zhao Baoxiu, female, born in 1948, a renowned Peking Opera master residing in Beijing. Zhao has improved her performance of Lao Dan on stage through her hard work and creative performances, which explains why she won the Plum Performance Prize in 1987. As an inheritor of the traditional art from, Zhao is enthusiastic about spreading it across the country. Zhao has many apprentices, but she never charges them any fees. Even when she was receiving chemotherapy treatment in hospital, she slipped out to help her students rehearse. The warm-hearted artist is also passionate about public service.
