In July, 2010, latest evidence released by the U.S. Department of Justice showed that over 40 Chinese companies had been involved in the bribery case of U.S.-based Control Components Inc. (CCI). CCI was accused of offering 236 corrupt payments overseas, over 60 of which were given to Chinese companies. According to the indictment list, potential bribe takers include large centrally-owned SOEs such as PetroChina, CNOOC, China Nuclear Energy Industry Corp., China Guodian Corporation, Huaneng Power International and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation. China's state-assets supervisor conducted a probe into SOEs involved, yet no results have been posted.
