More than 460 people have been forced to evacuate after their homes were damaged in an 5.2-magnitude quake that hit China's far-western Xinjiang region early Monday, local authorities said Monday night.
The quake, which hit the county of Qinghe at 3:05 a.m., has left cracks on more than 300 homes and 170 farm animal sheds, said a spokesman with the Party committee in the Altay region which administers the county.
The quake also disrupted the lives of over 23,000 people, said the spokesman.
No casualties have been reported so far.
