China's meteorological authorities predicted on Sunday that a cold front will linger in the country's northern regions over the next two days.
Temperatures in the central and eastern regions of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and other areas in north China will drop as much as 10 degrees Celsius, with some regions seeing strong winds, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said.
A new round of cold weather will slash the northern parts of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region starting Sunday, bringing moderate rains, sleet and high winds, the NMC said.
Meanwhile, the central and eastern parts of south China's Hainan province will experience rainstorms over the next three days, with some regions expected to receive up to 200 mm of precipitation, the NMC said.
Central and east China will encounter heavy fog on Sunday morning. Visibility in most parts of Jiangsu province, northwestern parts of Zhejiang province, central parts of Hunan province and western part of Jiangxi province will be reduced to less than 1,000 meters, the NMC said.
