President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang urged rescuers to make every effort to search for and save those injured or missing.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday asked for maximum effort in the search for survivors of an oil pipeline blast that killed at least 35 in east China's Shandong Province.

Xi asked local authorities to spare no effort to rescue the injured and strengthen safety to eradicate such incidents.

State Councilor Wang Yong arrived at the scene to guide the rescue work and comfort the injured.

The death toll has risen to 47 Friday noon.
