Chairperson:
Guo Weimin, vice minister of State Council Information Office

Date:

Lianhe Zaobao (Singapore):

In 2015, "big tigers" like Ling Jihua and Zhou Yongkang were taken down. Will the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection maintain this trend in 2016 and take down more officials of such a high level?

Luo Dongchuan:

Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Central Committee led by General Secretary Xi Jinping has adhered to the principle that all acts of corruption must be dealt with. We go after both "tigers" and "flies" with an attitude of zero tolerance toward corruption. Our fight against corruption has covered the entire party, with no restricted areas and no ceiling, and we will maintain this high pressure. No one can enjoy privileges similar to a token granted by an emperor or a feudal title like Iron-cap Prince that could exempt holders from punishment. At this plenary session, General Secretary Xi emphasized again that our resolution to crack down on corruption unswervingly has not changed nor has our goal to resolutely curb the spread of corruption.
