Eight people were killed and another five were injured in a
traffic accident in southwest China's Guizhou Province, according to local
sources.
The accident occurred at 17:30 PM Sunday in the Jinzhong
Township of Weining Autonomous County of Yi, Hui and Miao Ethnic
Minorities, where a truck loaded with cattle, registered in the Chongqing Municipality, bumped into a
passenger motor-tricycle.
The road condition and how many people were on board in each
vehicle are unknown yet.
The five injured were rushed to hospital.
Cause of the accident was under investigation.
Traffic accident is one of the major killers in China. In 2005
the Ministry of Public Security reported more than 90,000 people
killed by traffic accidents, accounting for about one-fifth of the
total traffic accident fatalities in the world.
