Eighteen ships had trips canceled due to fog between the Chinese mainland city of Xiamen and Taiwan's Jinmen on Saturday. Only six ships, carrying 1,121 passengers, from Wutong dock traveled to Jinmen.

But about 2,000 other passengers were stranded due to the bad weather. Refunds or changes were made available to these people.
