Senior judge investigated over serious discipline offences

A vice president of the higher court in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Zhang Tao, is being investigated for suspected serious disciplinary offences, a government spokesman said Thursday.

Wen Tianping, spokesman for the Chongqing government, said the president of the Chongqing Judges School, Wu Xiaoqing, and the head of the enforcement bureau of the No. 5 Intermediate People's Court of Chongqing, Guo Jian, are also under investigation for suspected serious disciplinary offences.

Wen said details would be made public in due time.

Zhang Tao, 46, came to work in Chongqing in 1997. He began to serve as the vice president of the Chongqing Municipal Higher People's Court in 2002.
