The Beijing Olympics is not only a competition, but also a meeting for art and cultures. The exhibition materialized the idea of a humanistic Olympics to display traditional Chinese culture. It also helped foreigners understand Chinese culture and creativity represented by the superb craftsmanship.
"Normally, it costs me one month to make a silk figurine", said silk figurine artist Du Bei.
"I create their faces and their dresses are also handmade work -- they are 100 percent handcraft."
Liu Ren, a paper-cutting artist, said, "Paper-cutting carries nuance of traditional Chinese culture. I believe the Beijing Olympics offers foreigners a very good chance to enjoy Chinese folk culture," said Liu.
China folk handicrafts have been exhibited in many countries. With high evaluations, they are popular among many foreign collectors.
