Japan held a photo exhibition in Indonesia on Saturday to commemorate the victims of the deadly earthquake which hit Japan on March 11 last year and to demostrate the post-quake recovery.

The Asahi Shimbun and Mitsubishi Corporation, supported by the Embassy of Japan and in cooperation with the Daily Jakarta Shimbun and the Jakarta Japan Club, organized "East Japan Earthquake Press Photo Exhibition" on March 10-18.

"In the post-disaster recovery efforts in Japan, we have received so much support and assistance from Indonesia. Therefore, as an expression of gratitude to all parties in Indonesia, let us show the last condition of the affected areas through this photo exhibition, " said Takashi Kasuya, Board Director, Office of the President of The Asahi Shimbun.

In addition to Jakarta, the photo exhibition is also organized by the Asahi Shimbun and Mitsubishi Corporation in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 5-14 and Seoul, South Korea, on March 12-20.
