At least one child was injured following the collapse of a house roof caused by a 5.3-magnitude earthquake that hit Pakistan's southwest Sibi area on Sunday morning, said Met officials and local media.
According to Pakistan National Seismic Monitoring Center in Karachi, the earthquake took place at 10:47 a.m. (Pakistan Standard Time) Sunday and the epicenter is located 196 kilometers southwest of Khuzdar, a district in cental Balochistan province in southwest Pakistan.
As the focal depth of the earthquake is only 10 km underground, strong tremors were even felt in areas hundreds of kilometers away from the epicenter.
A house located in the city of Sibi, which is about 190 kilometers northeast of Khuzdar, was damaged and a child in the house was injured as the house roof collapsed in the jolt, said local media ARY.
No other casualties and property damage have been reported in the earthquake.
