5.7-magnitude quake hits off the east coast of Honshu, Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 04: 30:29 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 35.50 km, was initially determined to be at 37.7825 degrees north latitude and 143.6534 degrees east longitude.
