Powerful earthquake jolts Mariana Island

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale rocked Mariana Islands at 0604 GMT Tuesday, the Hong Kong Observatory said in a news bulletin.

The epicenter was initially determined by the Hong Kong Observatory to be at 13.8 degrees north latitude and 146.4 degrees east longitude, about 180 km east-northeast of Guam.
