Two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrikes carried out by Israeli warplanes on central Gaza Strip early on Thursday morning, medics and witnesses said.
Gaza emergency chief Moaweya Hassanein told reporters that two Palestinians were killed when an Israeli pilotless drone fired one missile at a group of Palestinians east of al-Maghazi refuge camp in central Gaza Strip.
No other injuries were reported, said Hassanein, who didn't say if the two were militants or civilians. However, witnesses said the two are militants and were targeted by one Israeli missile fired by an Israeli warplane.
On Wednesday, Israeli war jet struck by missile a car that drove in northern Gaza Strip killing a Palestinian and wounding five others, medics and witnesses said.
Hassanein told reporters that one Palestinian was killed and five injured in an Israeli airstrikes on a local car that drove in northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli airstrikes on the car was an Israeli response to the ongoing rockets attacks carried out by small groups of militants on southern Israel, in spite of a fragile ceasefire that Hamas movement and other armed groups still committed to.
The Islamic Jihad (Holy War) armed wing Saraya al-Quds said that one of its militants was killed and five injured in an air strike on their car, which was driving near the northern Gaza Strip refugee camp of Jabalia.
Early on Wednesday morning, Israeli F16 warplanes struck the borderline area between southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah and destroyed several tunnels used by militants in smuggling goods and fuels from Egypt into Gaza.
Israel has carried out a 22-day military offensive on the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas rockets, attacks on Israeli towns and cities. Over 1,300 Palestinians and 11 Israelis were killed in the offensive that ended on Jan. 18.
