South Korea's Foreign Ministry appealed on Friday that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) should cancel its satellite launching scheduled for early April.
DPRK must determine its satellite launching as it violates the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1718, said the ministry at a press release.
The launching will be not helpful to the process of six-party talks on the nuclear issues on the Korean Peninsula, it added.
The South Korean government is discussing countermeasures over DPRK's satellite launch with Japan, China and Russia while keeps close coordination with the United States, it said.
DPRK's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Thursday that its government has informed the International Civil Aviation Organization, the International Maritime Organization and other international agencies of "necessary information for the safe navigation of planes and ships" while preparing to launch the Kwangmyongsong-2 with the carrier rocket of Unha-2. The DPRK informed international organizations the launching will be set for April 4-8, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
