Thailand is considering to postpone the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit due to the political turmoil which saw anti-government protestors seize Don Muang and Suvarnabhumi airports, Thai Foreign Minister Sompong Amornwiwat said Thursday.
Leaders of 10 ASEAN countries plus those of China, Japan and South Korea, are scheduled to meet in Chiang Mai between Dec. 14 to 18.
Sompong said he is considering whether to postpone the summit to avoid the protests.
The summit was initially planned to be held in Bangkok, but the government decided to move to Chiang Mai because of the protestors.
