Across the United States funeral homes are attempting to change their identity from solely a place to mourn the dead to venues to celebrate weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, holiday parties and proms.

Talk about strange places for a wedding. How about a funeral home? That's exactly where Paulita and Tony Flores uttered their vows last December, USA Today reported.

But this case isn't rare, as across the United States funeral homes are attempting to change their identity from solely a place to mourn the dead to venues to celebrate weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, holiday parties and proms.

In a 2010 National Funeral Directors Association survey, almost 10 percent of the 627 funeral home owners said they owned or offered a community or family center in addition to traditional funeral facilities.

It is often less expensive; there is greater availability; and the settings -- inside and outside -- can be nothing short of wedding-picture perfect.

Although people may think it morbid to start a marriage in a place surrounded by sadness, it would be no different than doing it at a church where both caskets and newlyweds occupy the aisles throughout the year. （点击《今日美国》查看原文）

       据美国殡葬协会2010年调查显示，在接受调查的627家殡仪馆中，有超过1/10为社团和家庭提供殡葬以外的服务。

       在殡仪馆举行婚礼不仅价格适中，而且设施齐全。其实，殡仪馆的内部和外部的景观以其它婚礼举办地没有什么区别。

       尽管人们会认为在这种哀痛肃穆的地方举行婚礼很不吉利，但殡仪馆同教堂其实并无太大差别：教堂同样会停放棺木，新人也都会从这里走进婚姻的殿堂。
