Hu said the Party will continue to vigorously ensure and improve the people's well-being, and will intensify efforts to combat corruption. He also vowed that the country will continue reform, opening up to future development, because China's international status as the largest developing country in the world has not changed and development is still the key to solving all the problems in the country. |

As for the Taiwan issue, Hu noted that the mainland will promote peaceful development of relations across the Taiwan Straits and deepen exchanges and cooperation in all areas. |
