讲话中，胡锦涛回顾了中国共产党在过去90年间所取得伟大成就，强调中国共产党要继续坚持和完善中国特色社会主义制度，坚持马克思主义，大力推进马克思主义中国化﹑时代化﹑大众化。 |
| Hu said the Party will continue to vigorously ensure and improve the people's well-being, and will intensify efforts to combat corruption. He also vowed that the country will continue reform, opening up to future development, because China's international status as the largest developing country in the world has not changed and development is still the key to solving all the problems in the country. |
胡锦涛表示，中国共产党会继续大力保障和改善民生，并深入开展反腐败斗争。我国是世界上最大的发展中国家的国际地位没有变，发展仍然是解决我国所有问题的关键，因此我国未来发展必须坚定不移依靠改革开放。 |
| As for the Taiwan issue, Hu noted that the mainland will promote peaceful development of relations across the Taiwan Straits and deepen exchanges and cooperation in all areas. |
谈到台湾问题，胡锦涛强调，中国大陆会继续推动海峡两岸的和平发展，全面深化两岸交流合作，扩大两岸各界往来。 |
| In his speech, Hu said that the Party will actively, yet prudently, carry out political structural reform and emphasized the absolute leadership of the Party over the army. |

| At the end of the speech, the President stated to the world that the Party will "unswervingly follow the basic state policy of opening up" and contribute to world peace. |
