An Afghan woman who was raped by her cousin's husband has revealed her horrific dilemma: marry the man, or spend the next 12 years in jail.

Gulnaz was aged just 19 when she was convicted by a court of adultery, even though she tried to prevent the attack, the Daily Mail reported.

Now she is in Kabul's Badam Bagh jail, serving out her sentence with her rapist's child. Now, though, Gulnaz has been given an option that would repulse most women: She can go free, as long as he starts a new life with the man who attacked her.

And, even more incredibly, she is willing to do just that. Gulnaz explained it was the only way out of jail, and the only way around the dishonor of having sex outside marriage.

女子被强暴须嫁施暴者

       据英国《每日邮报》报道，一位阿富汗妇女被她表亲的丈夫强暴，却面临着无法想像的两难选择，要不嫁给他，要不坐12年牢。

       这位叫做顾娜兹的女子当时年仅19岁，尽管她拼命反抗暴行，但仍被法庭判为通奸。

       现在她在喀布尔的巴姆巴监狱里带着被强暴生下的孩子服刑。她日前被提供了另外一个选择，而这种选择对任何一个女人来说都是极具侮辱性的，那就是如果她愿意与强暴她的人开始新的生活就可以得到自由。

       但更令人难以置信的是，顾娜兹竟然接受了这一选择。顾娜兹称，这是她唯一能够走出监狱的方法，也是唯一能够使她恢复名誉，不再背负婚外性关系罪名的方法。
