Led by President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC)
Sir Philip Craven, members of the IPC Governing Board who are in
Beijing to attend the 46th GB meeting visited the construction
sites of a number of venues and auxiliary facilities for the
Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games on Sunday.
Philip Craven is being
undated on the progress of the Olympic venues.
The tour brought them to the National Stadium, National Aquatics
Center, National Indoor Stadium, Paralympic Village, Beijing
University of Science and Technology Gymnasium and China
Agriculture University Gymnasium.
After receiving updates on the progress of the accessible
facilities including details of the entrance passes of the
Paralympic athletes, Sir Philip Craven expressed his satisfaction.
Board members had the same feelings when touring other venues and
auxiliary facilities because of the thorough consideration given to
accessibility.
Wang Wei, executive vice-president and secretary-general of the
Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad
(BOCOG) and Tang Xiaoquan, vice-president of the China Disabled
Persons' Federation and BOCOG executive vice-president accompanied
the IPC officials on the tour.
