Wang Liqin began to play table tennis at age 6. Starting at age 13, his efforts began to pay off: he was selected for Shanghai Municipality Team and then for the Chinese national team in 1996. Wang may be an introvert in daily life but is very aggressive during matches. As one of the top players in the world, Wang does not have any real weaknesses. He uses his forehand to quickly attack his opponents and is a master of the loop drive. In his free time he likes to listen to pop music and watch movies. He is also a fan of Formula 1 racing.
