"Chinese culture goes global" is a strategic project that Beijing has implemented in recent years, which is of great significance to national development. As the world's second-largest economy, the country should have a cultural status that is commensurate with its economics; and to foster more cultural exchanges.
Some people in the world have expressed concerns over China's continuous expansion. While others talk about the "China threat theory", "resource exploitation theory", and "China collapse theory". Nevertheless, the spread of Chinese culture can be conducive to the world when we all recognize a real China more objectively and rationally. In the present-day world, the culture and economy are highly blended, as cultural exports play an increasingly significant role in the Chinese economy.
Yet the significance of the going-global-strategy is not limited to China alone, which could be beneficial to the world peace and development. Three key words can define the concept.
The first word is "Prospect". In human history, every civilization set up a system to adapt to their environment. It is the crystallization of life experience for thousands of years that stands as great historical and artistic value of human heritage, the basic features of human society and the driving force behind the progress of civilization. Chinese culture provides rich nourishment both for the continuity of development and growth of the Chinese nation along with its unique contributions to human civilization and progress coming to fruition as its worldwide legacy.
Many years ago, the caravans on the Silk Road and Zhenghe's treasure ships had not only brought fine silk and porcelain, but also spread the Chinese culture abroad. Nowadays, the Chinese people wish to show their colorful culture to the world to enrich human civilization and spark greater diversity.
