Brazilian footballer Kaka has been chosen to be the star of a worldwide campaign of the United Nations' World Food Program (WFP), local media said on Thursday.
A video is expected to be released before the World Cup in South Africa, which will begin on June 11. In the recording, Kaka talks to a group of young athletes who dream of playing in the most famous teams in the world. He asserts that in every six people, at least one suffers from chronic hunger and thus asks the team to strive to overcome the problem of hunger.
In 2008, Kaka took part in the Fill the Cup campaign, which aimed at raising funds to feed children in schools and inform people about the effects of hunger.
One of the best soccer players in the world, Kaka won the Golden Ball award and the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007.
