Bayern coach calls for players to boycott national friendly

Germany's World Cup players in Bayern could boycott the friendly against Denmark on August 11, the club coach Van Gaal said in a press conference on Thursday.
"They return from holiday on August 2 and then they must leave for an friendly on August 9. It is nonsense," van Gaal said.
The Bayern coach added: "If eight Bayern players decline to play at the friendly then I think the DFB (German Football Association) would listen to the clubs issues."
DFB General secretary Wolfgang Niersbach counterattacks Louis van Gaal criticism in an announcement: "Of course, cancelling of the friendly against Denmark is not an option."
Champions Bayern Munich will face Wolfsburg at the Bundesliga opener on August 20.
