Brazil's Thiago Pereira ended his participation in the first stage of the 2010 FINA Swimming World Cup on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro by winning two more gold medals. In total, the swimmer earned four gold medals in the weekend's event.
Winning the 200 meters freestyle and the 200 medley on Sunday, the athlete added to his previous day's winnings. On Saturday, Pereira won the 100 and the 400 medley in the waters of the Maria Lenk Aquatic Park.
Pereira broke his own South American record in the 200 medley. Improving upon his mark established earlier, the swimmer set a new record with one minute 52.72 seconds.
