Asian Games torch "The Tide" was relayed in Jiangmen City of Guangdong Province, which is called the "No. 1 Hometown of Overseas Chinese".

On 9:30 this morning, Li Shanshan, a champion gymnast of the Beijing Olympic Games, received the torch from Chen Jixing, Municipal Party Secretary of Jiangmen, to run the firstleg from East Lake Square, which begins the journey of the trend in Jiangmen. About 10:50am, Liang Renkan the torch bearer of last leg, who is the grandson of Liang Qichao, lit up the flame cauldron together with Liu Hai, Mayor of Jiangmen.

Apart from the name of the "Hometown of Overseas Chinese", Jiangmen also has a name of the "Hometown of Academicians" due to 32 Jiangmen-born academicians.

The torch will be relayed in Foshan on Wednesday.
