Spain coach Vicente del Bosque watched his players win their final preparation game ahead of the World Cup finals in style and then revealed his ambitions for the competition.
The Spanish produced an excellent display to beat Poland 6-0, with goals from David Villa, David Silva, Xabi Alonso, Cesc Fabrigas, Pedro Rodriguez and Fernando Torres, who made his first appearance following knee surgery in April.
It was by far Spain's best performance in the run into the World Cup and speaking afterwards Del Bosque allowed himself to dream.
"Spain is a team that can aspire to reach the final," he said in Wednesday's edition of sports paper Diario AS.
However, the coach of the reigning European Champions refuses to get too carried away.
"What we have done in the past is worth nothing in the future. We have to work hard and play seriously. We hope to reach the final and we will see if our dream can come true," he said.
Del Bosque admitted that the performance against the Poles would only serve to raise expectations that Spain could win its first ever World crown.
