After a heavy 6-0 defeat against Bayern Munich, Hamburg executive board released head coach Armin Veh with immediate effect, the club announced on Sunday.

Veh already declared his leaving after the season but the second heavy defeat in a row was enough for the board to replace Armin Veh for co-trainer Michael Oenning for now.

"Following the announcement of his leaving at the end of the season and the impression of the last two games, we decided to dismiss Armin Veh," Sport director Bastian Reinhardt said.

Hamburg sit on a disappointing 8th position with 37 points without the possibility to participate in the European competition.
