The Beijing team will have their first match in the inaugural Chinese Men's Handball League on Friday.

Beijing will travel to Weihai, Shandong Province to face the hosts on Friday night, and challenge the PLA team and Tianjin on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

It is the first year for the Chinese Handball Association to stage a handball League in China. Eight teams were divided into two divisions for the regular phase.

The regular season will end in May with the playoffs to start in September.

As a powerhouse of the Chinese handball community, Beijing enjoyed a glorious history but has witnessed instability in their performance in recent years following the retirement of some key players.
