Graeme Dott came from 2-0 down to beat Marco Fu 5-3 in the first round of the World Snooker China Open on Monday.
"Fu had a better start and established a 2-0 lead very quickly, but after taking the third frame I found back my rhythm," said Dott, the winner of the ranking event in 2007.
German Masters runner-up Fu won the first two frames with a top break of 54 before Larkhall's Dott hit back to win five of the next six with a top run of 76.
"Dott pressured me a lot when he was 0-2 behind," admitted Fu. "I didn't make so many mistakes during the match, but his scoring capacity is really good."
Dott will play the winner between defending champion Peter Ebdon and Marcus Campbell in the second round.
