The Chinese Football Association (CFA) denied Thursday that it will separate from the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC), the government agency responsible for sports in China.

Reports circulated Thursday that the CFA, which has been plagued by managerial dysfunction since the termination of national football head coach Jose Camacho, would henceforth function independently from the GASC. According to China News Service, representatives from CFA denied the reports and said that the CFA was unaware of the rumors’ source.
