Serena Williams of the United States defeated home player Johanna Larsson in the final of the Swedish Open and won her 53rd WTA title on Sunday.
The world No. 1 Williams won the final 6-4 and 6-1, showing no mercy against her 76th-ranked opponent.
"It feels good to have the victory after the disappointment in Wimbledon," said Williams, the 31-year-old American who lost the fourth round match in Wimbledon.
"It was tough at the beginning. She moved well. I had only to fight," Williams said of her opponent, 24-year-old Larsson who was still fighting for her first WTA title after two failed attempts.
