Arsenal is ready to turn its attention to Ecuadorian winger Jefferson Montero, if it fails to land a big name in the next couple of days, local media reported.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is currently looking to sign Real Madrid trio Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema, and is also interested in Schalke's midfielder Julian Draxler.

With so little time left to land a big name, Wenger is eyeing the 24-year-old Montero as a last-minute option.

Rumor has it that the Cardiff-based Arsenal has been in negotiations with Montero and the Mexican club he's currently playing for, Morelia.

Montero, predominantly a left winger who can also be used as a striker, has 27 caps for Ecuador, and played with Arsenal's Santi Cazorla in Spain's Villarreal.
