Four times Dubai duty free tennis championships winner Roger Federer, currently ranked eight in world's men's tennis, beat on Monday Germany's Benjamin Becker in two sets 6-1, 6-4 to enter the second round of the 22nd ATP tournament in Arab emirate.

Swiss superstar Federer played against the German Becker with relative ease in the first set, so that the match looked in phases like a training session for the him. The 1.85 meters Federer scored five aces in the encounter which lasted over one hour and ten minutes.

Becker scored one ace during the match and improved his style of playing considerably during the second set. Nevertheless Federer's speedy power play was a class too high for the German hopeful.

"I am very happy with my performance today. I like the court I Dubai, the atmosphere here, that's why I try to play the tournament every year," said the 32-year old Federer, who won 17 Grand Slam tournaments in his career and is considered one of the best male tennis player of all times.
