Feng Shanshan shot a 6-under 66 to lead in the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage.

Chinese golfer Feng Shanshan shot a 6-under 66 to lead in the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage, California on Thursday.

Feng had seven birdies and a bogey in the morning round in the first women's major tournament of the year.

Feng won the 2012 U.S. LPGA Championship to become the tour's first Chinese winner. Last year, she won the Reignwood LPGA in China and the season-ending CME Group Titleholders.

American Angel Yin, 15, shot 68, and Cristie Kerr and Jennifer Rosales were tied for third at 69.
