Funeral of Hungary Olympic champion canoeist Gyorgy Kolonics was held in Budapest's Farkasret Cemetery on Friday afternoon.
Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany, Chairman of the Hungarian Olympic Committee Pal Schmitt, members of the Hungarian Canoe-kayak team and thousands of mourners attended the funeral.
The 36-year old canoeist died on July 15 while he was training for Beijing Olympic Games. During his career, Kolonics won two Olympic gold medals, 15 world championships and 3 European championships.
