The first prototype of the amazing Dauer 962LM appeared in 1994, a superfast road legal replica of the all conquering Porsche 962 Le Mans car. The only 962 replica officially approved by Porsche.
Twin KKK turbos pushed out an extraordinary 730bhp, even more amazing when you consider that was from just 3 litres! Acceleration was simply phenomenal with 60mph coming up in a scarcely believable 2.6sec, then onto a colossal 251mph maximum speed. A true racing car for the road, two barely modified Dauer road cars took 1st and 3rd at the 1994 Le Mans race! For the road, however, there have been some concessions to practicality such as the hydraulically assisted doors, engine cover and ride height (an absolute necessity otherwise the ground effect spoilers would be destroyed).
Just 50 are planned, with 13 having been sold so far (as of 2004).
