Founded in 1897, Zhejiang University is a comprehensive national university as well as one of the earliest modern academies of higher learning established in China. Due to pleasant climate, picturesque surroundings and a favorable academic atmosphere, Zhejiang University is an ideal place for teaching, researching, and learning. It consists of five campuses, including Zijingang, Yuquan, Xixi, Huajiachi, and Zhijiang. It is also known as one of the most beautiful universities in China.
The university now has 122 specialties for undergraduate studies, including philosophy, literature, history, education, science, economics and law. It also owns 14 State Key Laboratories, one national Engineering Laboratory, two National Engineering Research Centers and three National Engineering Technology Centers.
In addition, the university has seven affiliated hospitals and complete facilities, providing advanced medical services for people from all over Zhejiang province.
