In 2010 celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, who is Ethiopia-born, Sweden-raised and now a Harlem resident, combined his knowledge of African, Scandinavian and American cuisines at his new Harlem restaurant, Red Rooster, adding to the neighborhood's reputation as the place to visit for cultural and culinary delights. In 2010 Samuelsson also won the Bravo network's Top Chef Masters and gave his $100,000 prize to the UNICEF Tap Project. Samuelsson is the owner of C-House restaurant in Chicago and was the three-star-winning executive chef at New York's Aquavit restaurant.
