Brief Introduction:

This is the place where the ethnic groups still keep their old and primitive civilization and customs. You can find long-forgotten skills and techniques in handicraft industry.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Beijing. Met and transferred to your hotel, free an relax at your own. Overnight at Beijing Qianmen Jianguo Hotel or similar.

Day 2: Beijing. Beijing has an impressive history and plenty of sightseeing, with a rewarding collection of palaces, museums and parks. Today we concentrate on the heart of Beijing, beginning with Tienanmen Square, the Forbidden City and Beijing Zoo to see the pandas before journeying further afield to the Summer Palace. Optional evening out to the Peking Opera. Overnight at Beijing Qianmen Jianguo Hotel or similar. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 3: Beijing. One of the highlights of any trip to China is an inspiring day tour to the mighty Great Wall at Mutianyu, where a cable car ride is included. Enjoy plenty of time to walk along its ramparts and absorb the breathtaking views. After lunch return to Beijing, enjoy a little free time before a special Peking Duck Dinner in the evening. Overnight at Beijing Qianmen Jianguo Hotel or similar. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Beijing/ Guiyang. After breakfast visit the Temple of Heaven where the Qing emperors prayed to heaven for good harvests. Take a flight to Guiyang this afternoon. Upon arrival in Guiyang, met and transferred to the hotel. Overnight at Guiyang Jinzhu Hotel or similar. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Guiyang/ Kaili. Visit Shiqing Miao Village. Overnight at Kaili Tenglong Hayatt or similar. Shiqing is one kind of Miao village which has the largest Miao group in the Kaili area. Their silk felt has been a myth until now. It is cut into tiny pieces and dyed using tree toots and grasses found in the mountains as natural dye for the decoration of their festival costumes. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Kaili/ Zhenyuan. Visit Wengxiang Miao Village. A boat cruise on Wuyang River. Overnight at Zhenyuan Hotel or similar. Wengxiang Miao village is known for the special textile technique called "folded embroidery". The particular embroidery is applied on the sleeve. It needs at least one month to finish for one sleeve's decoration! Wuyang River connects Shibing and Zhenyuan county together and was the most important transportation way in ancient time. Today visitors can enjoy its wonderful landscape with many green banks on the both side. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: Zhenyuan - Shidong - Kaili. Visit Black Dragon Cave and a silversmith's family, Miao Embroidery Workshop at Sankeshu. Overnight at Kaili Tenglong Hayatt or similar. Black Dragon Cave is not actually a cave but an ancient architecture complex. It is a combination of three religions - Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism with more than 600 years' history. Shidong is a small township of Taijiang county, but this doesn't affect its reputation for the artistry of silver ornaments made by local Miao silversmiths. We will visit the most well-known silversmith and have the opportunity to have a presentation of the silver ornament making. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 8: Kaili. Visit Matang Gejia Village, Langde Long-skirt Miao village. Overnight at Kaili Tenglong Hayatt or similar. Matang village, is another Nationality that has not got the recognition by the government, called Gejia people who are classified as a subgroup of the Miao people. Their costumes are totally different from the Miao. Wax-resist is the most distinguished skill that the women use to decorate their costumes. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 9: Kaili-Guiyang. Visit Jiaxiu Pavilion, Flower and Bird Market, Qianling Park, Hongfu Buddhist Temple. Overnight at Guiyang Jinzhu Hotel or similar. Jiaxiu Pavilion is the symbol of Guiyang city which used to be a get-together place for local scholars before the university entrance examination. It located on the Nanming river with a big open space where local people do morning exercises as well as entertainment. Hongfu Buddhist Temple is located in Qianlin park and is over 300 years old. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 10: Guiyang/ Shanghai. Fly to Shanghai today. Upon arrival met and transfer to your hotel to freshen up. Overnight at Dorure International or similar. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 11: Shanghai. After breakfast pay a visit to the Bund, the former British and French Concession, Yu Garden and Shanghai Museum. Lunch at local restaurant. Overnight at Dorure International or similar. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 12: Shanghai/ Departure. Transfer to the airport, fly home. Includes: (B).
