Beijing to build large tourist center

Beijing will invest 1.08 billion yuan to build a large-scale tourist center in western Beijing, covering an area of 348 mu.

The center will be located in Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District. It is also a key project in China's ten tourist centers program.

It is reported that the center will set up a sound western Beijing travel service system for dining, lodging, traffic, travel, shopping and entertainment. It will also connect Chanping, Fangshan, and Mencheng Xincheng to spur on the development of the surrounding areas.

Zhaitang Tourist Center will have several functional areas including cultural and creative industry area, a business hotel, a travel agency, and an entertainment area.
